These filters are created by childhood experiences, both positive and negative, that have been compounded by subsequent similar experiences as we age and they allow us to respond with efficiency, whether the response is ultimately harmful or beneficial to ourselves.
The good news is that everything our subconscious learns can be unlearned, or re-framed, in a beneficial positive way.
