Meet Aaron Larson

Aaron is a certified Clinical and Transpersonal Hypnotherapist with more than 500 hours of training from the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy (IIH), a state-licensed school of hypnotherapy in Florida. He is also a member in good standing with the International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists (IAIH).

With his training and experience, Aaron is ready to help clients deal with any issues they are struggling to handle. He has witnessed life-altering changes in many people through hypnotherapy and he is confident that the process can work for anyone with the right motivation.

Throughout his life, Aaron has found great joy in helping others. He was born and raised on a family farm in rural Minnesota, which instilled in him a strong work ethic and love of nature. His mother was a school teacher for special needs children, and she taught Aaron to respect others and be kind to those less fortunate than himself.

Aaron spent 13 years in the U.S. Navy, where he served two tours aboard the USS Enterprise as a nuclear-qualified Machinist Mate. Between his stints on the Enterprise, Aaron worked as an instructor at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, which was in Orlando, Florida, at the time. While on shore duty, Aaron completed his Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology, graduating from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey, through a remote learning program. He advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer before leaving the military with an honorable discharge.

Following his Navy career, Aaron spent several years working as a maintenance supervisor at the Quad Cities nuclear power station in Cordova, Illinois. When the opportunity to move back to his family’s farm arose, he quickly jumped at the chance. However, as a new farmer and with limited acreage, he continued to work off the farm as well. Aaron worked for a few years as a financial worker for Lac Qui Parle County Family Services. He greatly enjoyed assisting people in need of medical assistance and food support in that role.

When the chance to utilize his power plant skills at a new biomass-fueled facility in the local area arose, he took advantage of the opportunity. He worked as the operations and maintenance manager for the Fibrominn plant for six years, while continuing his education through another online learning program. He graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree from City University of Seattle (Washington) in 2010. Following an ownership change at the Fibrominn plant, Aaron accepted a more stable job closer to home at the Big Stone Plant in eastern South Dakota.

Never one to sit idle, after about a year at Big Stone, Aaron applied for a job as a technical editor and was hired by POWER magazine. He has been writing and editing for the publication for more than eight years, and especially enjoys sharing best practices and tips to help readers improve plant operations and job performance.
Still, the desire to help others in a more personal way has continued calling to him.

After 15 years of farming, and with his aging father growing less and less able to help in the field, Aaron decided to quit farming and take up full-time residence in Florida in 2018. That’s where hypnotherapy entered his consciousness. After watching his wife of more than 30 years go through the IIH training program and seeing the life-changing effects it had on her, Aaron knew he had to pursue a similar path.
